First things first, a big hearty thank-YOU goes out to all my faithful readers, who made last month my biggest month ever for this humble little blog! It even surpassed last year's April, when I blogged about the royal wedding. It was hard to top that, trust me. If only royal weddings happened every day, I would have such a popular blog....
In other news, our whirlwind weekend turned into a whirlwind week, and it hasn't slowed down yet. With two Bible studies, overnight guests, basketball and housework, I have been kept on my toes. Then, Monday night on the way home from Randy's basketball game he turned to me and said, "Let's go to the coast tonight." And if there's one thing I've learned in my short few years of marriage, it's to say no as little as possible. Keeps things interesting.:) So that's just what we did! We swung by the house, grabbed our stuff, and went! I am so thankful for a husband willing to do things like that. Life is too short not to.
And so now, when I find myself sitting down to this blog with a bowl of Life, my mind feels a little scattered. Like I'm not sure where I left off, or what I should talk about. Maybe I should give a little update on Jocelyn, because I'm afraid it's been a while since I did that.
I think I grow more fond of Little Miss every day. She is just so much fun. And growing like a weed, of course. So here it is:
- She is currently 16 months old. I feel like a really bad mom because I have been telling people she's 15 for about 2 months now. It's just that sometimes it feels like she's growing faster than time is even passing, which I know isn't possible, but it seems that way!
- She is walking! That has been the biggest development for her lately, and she seems to know it too. She still gets a very excited look on her face as she holds her hands up high for balance and toddles around. I will be very sad when she loses that waddle and graduates to a normal walk. :(
- Her teeth keep poking through her gums faster than I can count. Last I checked she had 15. I wouldn't be surprised if she has more by now.
- Some of her favorite things to do, are play with an iPhone, iPod, or a purse. She will spend a half hour just putting the strap over her shoulder, over and over again. She thinks she is SO big.
- She loves walks with mommy in the stroller and runs with daddy.
- She says Hi, Bye, Baby, Dada, Mama, sheep, cheese, and the animal sounds for a sheep, cow and dog.
- She knows the signs for "please" and "all done". Obviously, I didn't teach her as many as I should have.
- She kisses my belly and rubs it and says baby. But she occasionally does the same to Randy, so we think that she's under the impression that everyone has a baby in their tummy.
- Today she insisted (in her own little way) of wearing her pajamas. She also loves to take clothes and try to put them on over her head. She will entertain herself this way so long. I think I'm in for one of those girls that changes 13x a day! :p
And update on Baby Sister:
- She is the size of a cantaloupe! (Feels more like a watermelon.)
- She has been using me as a trampoline, punching bag, and gym mat ALL. DAY. LONG. I never remember feeling Jocelyn move this much! This leads me to two conclusions. 1. She will have a very different personality than her older sister. 2. I am pregnant with a world-class, Olympian gymnast.
- 5 weeks and 6 days until D-day.
- Her eyes are open when she’s awake and closed when she's sleeping.
- If she was born this week, she has a 99% chance of survival. Sounds good to me, come on out baby!:)
- I read this on somebody's blog and cannot agree with it enough....all of you normal people (including myself, a few months ago) completely take for granted the wonderful ability of being able to bend over. Don't.
- I can not WAIT to start working out in June and get my body back.
That's all I can think of for now. I have a hot shower, book, and bed calling my name. Hopefully I will be back soon, but as we all learned from last time, I won't say "See you tomorrow" anymore. So....see you next time. :)
Cute post...I am so with you on not taking for granted the ability to bend over. I was due yesterday and I can hardly believe I will be able to bend over again, hopefully within the next few days! The simple task of putting on SOCKS takes a balancing act. =P Oh well, babes will be worth it!
