Back at it again.

Hello.

It's me.

You're welcome for the Adele song that will be running through your head for the rest of the day now.

I've come to the realization lately that I avoid blogging because there is always a laundry list of all of the things I need to catch up on in this space.....

-Jocelyn's 5th birthday party.
-Christmas
-Phoenix
-Disneyland

And then I get overwhelmed and just end up never blogging.  Unfortunately, that means all the moments happening currently in our lives are getting passed by, undocumented.  And issues arise in our world, culture, and the lives around us that I feel desperate to write about, but there's this big giant homework pile in my mind staring me in the face, preventing me from ever pressing that first key.

But recently one of my favorite bloggers of all time returned to the blogosphere after a hiatus, and she did just that.  Returned.  Didn't regale us with everything that had happened in the time she had been absent, she just said hello, and jumped in again.

So I suppose in a way that's given me courage to poke my head back in here.  Even though my friends tell me that "Blogging is out" like it's last season's fashion, and it would be like wearing hot pink track jackets and stone-washed denim to attempt blogging again.  But I don't really care. Blogging may be out.  But there is still a spot in my heart that longs to write, regardless of the social media trends.

Speaking of social media trends, if you want more of a consistent update of our lives, that happens over HERE.   I joke sometimes about how Instagram ate my blog, but it's mostly true, and I'm not even mad about it. I blogged for years, and it seemed like such a struggle to establish any sort of communication with my readers.  The whole blogging-commenting thing seems so awkward and difficult to use.  And even when people DO leave a comment (bless your hearts, you rare, breed.) it was hard to know what to do....do I leave a reply right there on that same post?  Are they ever even going to check back and see that?  Do I address comments in a new post?  Do I set it up so that comments come to my email?  But even when they do, do my replies go to their email?   It was all so confusing for this not-so-tech-savvy girl.

But Instagram?  It's is as easy as Facebook.  Maybe even easier.  And it makes conversation and communication SO fast and simple, it's easily my favorite little outlet these days.  So here is my public service announcement:  If you're not already, GET ON INSTAGRAM.  You won't regret it.  It's a party over there.

In the meantime, however, I guess this space will be for all of those brain dumps that can't really fit into a caption on Instagram.   I mean, you know you miss blogging when you go to write a caption for your photo and 3 paragraphs later......yeah, the blog still holds a special place in my heart.

So before I go, here are just a few things I've been thinking about lately, and haven't had the time to write about.

This will absolutely break your heart.
When I grow up? I want to be JUST LIKE THEM.
Mostly cute. And also a little funny.
Fascinated by other women's morning routines.  Also inspired to exercise more now! Sheesh.

What have you been thinking/reading/hearing lately that has touched your heart, or inspired you?  I'd love to hear about it!
