Pre-New Year's Inspiration

O.k. so it has been a long time.  I would ordinarily feel pretty guilty, but I'm not yet because according to my calendar it is still December 30th of 2011, which gives me approximately one more day of slacking until my New Year's Resolution to blog consistently kicks in.  So UNTIL THEN, I intend to continue slacking, and not feeling guilty.  Whew, glad we got that out of the way.

So, have any of you discovered the ultra-entertaining, positively inspiring GWG blog?  (Girls With Glasses)  Oh, you all have? Months ago?  I thought so.  I'm always behind the times.  Well, here they are in all their glory....

Eeeek!  Even if they were obnoxious, I would still love their blog for the sole reason of their excellent taste in modest, feminine, trend-setting fashion.  But it is just the cherry on top that they are anything BUT obnoxious!  They are witting, charming, and downright funny, and it's so refreshing.  Refreshing to see that you don't have to be frumpy to be modest, weak to be humble, boring to be intelligent, or any of the other misnomers of our day when it comes to women.  I. LOVE. THEM.

After watching their little videos and seeing them obviously so thoroughly enjoy their lives and what they do for a living, it starts this little rumbling of inspiration deep inside me.  There are so many dreams and goals and ambitions floating around in my head that I just push to the back burner time and time and time again.  I don't have the time.  Or the energy.  Or the drive.  Or the motivation.  Or the time.  Did I say time twice?  But the truth is, those are all lame excuses.  Lame-o.  So hopefully 2012 will be THE year that I finally stop dreaming, and start doing.  We will see.

The fantastic Jenny from this lovely blog actually sent me the link to their blog in the first place and that was how I discovered them.  She also said that they reminded her of me, *gasp* and so I of course will be floating high on that compliment for weeks.  Of course she's never actually MET me, so that might have a teensy bit to do with it.....  Sigh.  Oh to be cool and have an endless array of fabulous glasses.  Forget new clothes, I am going to start adding glasses to my wardrobe.  They're the new "scarf"!

Anyway, that's really not all I've been doing with myself lately.  I mean, it has been for the past 45 minutes or so, but honestly, up until then, I have been MIA in the internet world.  It's just been too crazy-busy.  But hopefully now that Christmas and the little Miss' birthday are past, things will start to slow down.

I am so excited to work on my yearly list of Resolutions.  Do you guys make them?  I heard someone say that they never make them anymore because they never keep them anyway, so why make them.  Well that's the whole point!  It's so motivating and intoxicating to have a fresh, new, unscathed calendar year staring you in the face full of potential and possibility, and this year, I am determined to make a little more use of that possibility than I have in the past.  I mean seriously, I am 26.  These goals aren't going to set themselves.

Peace out people, more to come in the new year.   Here's a little song that's been running through my head all day to send you on your way to a cheery Saturday night.

ok, and so much to say about "girls with glasses". so much to say!
you have to google brooke white on you tube and watch her american idol performances. she just absolutely has the crowd/judges in love with her- even though they are critical of her musical abilities from time to time. people love how genuine and humble she is.
also the GWG girls are in a Rue magazine photo shoot i found- looking awesome of course. do they do it all or what??!!!
they also lead blogging workshops. thats how i found them.
also, apprently brooke white got the flu and that ended her career with AI.
yes, i have been "detectiving" them on the web! i am so so fascinated!
now apparently they both have at least 1 child- how do they do it all?
