Hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to vacation we go.

2:33 PM

Today I am scrambling around like the proverbial headless chicken trying to get ready for a little vacation out at the coast.  I mean, who's complaining?  Not this girl.

Yesterday I made sourdough dough (is that like a double negative?  Does it cancel itself out and just leave "sour"?  Hopefully not)  that we can use for french toast, and a 7-layer dip and a fresh apple crisp and peanut butter cookies and a giant bowl of pico de gallo.  Whew.

Randy came home from a 13, 14....maybe more? hour work day to a tornado-zone house, several simultaneous crises (potty accident and broken glass all over the floor from a picture frame that fell off the kitchen wall) and a grumpy wife.  Not exactly the welcoming committee of your dreams.

Thankfully, we all survived the days leading up to our trip, (which everyone knows can be the absolute pits) and we get to all take a deep breath and relax, and be refueled and recharged the next few days.  Goodness knows we all need it.

Just so things won't be too dead around here, I scheduled a fun little fashion post for Friday, but other than that, I probably won't be back around here until Monday.  Our church's Heritage Day is on Saturday, and we will be busy with that this weekend as well.  If you're local, come check it out!

That's all for now folks, have a wonderful week/weekend!

  1. Hope you have a great vacation! I am not curious how you use the sourdough dough in cookies and apple crisp? Do you just dip it in the pico de gallo?
